Aviso (music)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In music, the Aviso is understood as the opening movement of a conductor with which he dictates the speed to be played to the orchestra. The Aviso consists of a single beat that is executed as an upward movement. Together with the first beat of the first measure, it indicates the desired speed. In addition, the Aviso can also indicate the dynamics of the piece of music.

This type of use is particularly widespread in classical music , while other possibilities are also used in modern music (e.g. jazz ), such as counting in, ie counting a certain number of beats in advance.
