Axel Krygier

Axel Krygier (* 1969 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is an Argentinian multi-instrumentalist, band leader and composer in the genres of jazz, electronics and world music.

Life

At the age of 18 he bought his first multi-channel recording device and brought in his own ideas and topics. During his studies of the flute and the piano he also worked as a saxophonist in the group Instrucción Cívica ( Kevin Johansen  - Julian Benjamin ).

He soon provided the musical part for numerous film and theater productions and dance pieces. From 1990 to 1996 he was a member of the group La Portuaria, with whom he released four albums.

In 1999 the record label Los Años Luz Discos published its first solo album Échale semilla! It was named best new release of the year by the music journals Clarín and Rolling Stone . The following year it came out on the HiTop label in Spain. Many pieces on it made it to numerous compilations in Europe and Asia.

Between 2001 and 2003 Axel Krygier gathered a jazz-electronic-world music ensemble in Barcelona and took part in numerous European music festivals, for example Les Transmusicales in Rennes , BAM in Barcelona, Bal-Concert in La Villette , La Línea Festival Latino in London .

On his return to Argentina he founded the Sexteto Irreal together with Christian Basso , with whom he has since performed several times at the Konex and Quilmes Rock festivals, among others .

Again Los Años Luz Discos published his dance theater composition Secreto y Malibú in 2003. The performances were very well received in Europe, Asia and the USA and of course in Argentina, the country of origin.

His most recent work as a film music composer was for El boquete by Mariano Mucci and Chicha tu madre by Gianfranco Quatrini , both of which were shown for the first time in February 2006 in Mar del Plata at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata .

In 2007 the Spanish label HiTop released the new album Zorzal (= argent. Singdrossel), which was released in Argentina in 2005. With his new band Los Guacamayos he presented it on tour through clubs and festivals.
