Axel Möller (born September 22, 1957 in Flintbek ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Möller rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1978 as a 20-year-old with Holstein Kiel . A year earlier he had already contributed 22 goals to the first time the promotion round. He played with Holstein in the 2nd division until he was relegated in 1981 and played 69 games (twelve goals). Möller rejected an offer from the first division club Hamburger SV that was received around the time of promotion , as he would have had to give up his civil service status in order to become a professional athlete. Axel Möller played a total of 259 championship and promotion games (1976 & 1977) for Holstein Kiel and scored 77 goals.

After leaving Holstein in 1985, Möller still played for Itzehoer SV and VfB Lübeck . In addition to his job as a post office clerk, he initially worked as a coach in Kiel amateur football (TSV Flintbek, FC Süd Kiel). Between July 2009 and October 2010 Möller trained TSV Wankendorf. Axel Möller has been training TSV Flintbek again since the 2011/12 season.
