The TSV Wankendorf (officially: Turn- und Sportverein Wankendorf from 1906 eV ) is a sports club from the municipality of Wankendorf in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein . The club owns, among other things, divisions for soccer , handball , badminton and table tennis .
Club history
The men's gymnastics club Wankendorf , founded on October 17, 1906, was renamed the gymnastics and sports club Wankendorf in 1920 . The club Rasensport Wankendorf , which emerged from a spin-off in the 1920s, went back to TSV Wankendorf in 1927.
Football department
From 2003 to 2017, the TSV Wankendorf men's team played, with one exception, in the second-highest Schleswig-Holstein amateur class, which was called the regional league until 2008 and since then the association league . Only in the 2011/12 season did the club play in the Neumünster district league, the third highest amateur class at the time.
As champions of the Association League South-West, TSV Wankendorf rose in 2017 to the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein , the highest Schleswig-Holstein amateur class. With only four points, the club rose again immediately from bottom of the table at the end of the 2017/18 season .
This was followed by the 2018/19 season in the Landesliga Holstein , from which TSV Wankendorf again relegated bottom of the table. For the 2019/20 season, the club entered into a football match with TSV Quellenhaupt Bornhöved and SV Schmalensee, which competed in the Association League East under the name FSG Saxonia in the 2019/20 season.
