Axel Müller-Schöll (* 1960 in Stuttgart ) is a German architect , interior designer , designer and university professor .

Life

After attending the humanistic grammar school and an extensive internship in a village locksmith's shop in Pont-l'Abbé (Bretagne), Axel Müller-Schöll applied to the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart for interior architecture and furniture design and became a student of professors Klaus Franz and Robert Haussmann , Heinz Mohl and Arno Votteler . At the Università degli Studi di Firenze he studied architecture with Adolfo Natalini , in whose studio (Natalini Architetti) he also worked.

During this time in Florence he set up his own office, Studio Paretaia - named after the Casa Colonica, in which he lived during this time. With minor renovations and numerous competitions, the studio gradually professionalized and moved to Stuttgart in 1989, where he now runs it together with his wife Susanne and deals with architecture, interior fittings, exhibition concepts, furniture design and advising companies.

When he returned to Stuttgart, he accepted an assistantship at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart in the Department of Architecture and Design with Arno Votteler and, together with him, conceived several exhibition and publication projects at what is now the Weißenhof Institute. After visiting professorships at the École Nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and the Academie of Art and Design Beijing, Axel Müller-Schöll was appointed professor of design, interior design and interior design at the Burg Giebichenstein Art College in Halle in 1994 .

In 1999, he founded the idea ... Institute (Institute for interior design, environment and architecture) in the design department, which under his leadership conducts experimental and, above all, interdisciplinary projects, promotes the next generation of designers, and deals with overarching questions of the design and potential of spaces published. From 2002 to 2006, Axel Müller-Schöll was dean of the design department and from 2010 to 2014 he headed the Burg Giebichenstein Art College in Halle as its rector.

He lives and works in Stuttgart and in Halle (Saale).

Axel Müller-Schöll is the son of Albrecht Müller-Schöll .
