Axelsberg is an above-ground station on the Stockholm subway . It is located in the Hägersten district . The station is served by the Röda linjen of the Stockholm metro system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 3,000 commuters get on and off here.

The station was put into operation on May 16, 1965, when the section of the Röda linjen between Örnsberg and Sätra was inaugurated. The platforms are in the cut. The station is located between the Örnsberg and Mälarhöjden stations . It is about six kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
