history

In 1432 the place name appeared for the first time in a letter. An excursion restaurant had existed here since the 17th century, which also inspired Carl Michael Bellman to write various verses. Since the middle of the 19th century it was popular to celebrate summer festivals in Hägersten.

A planned development of the area with single-family houses began in 1923. Regardless of this, there were already a large number of houses here. Since the middle of the 20th century, several buildings with several floors have been built, especially at the Axelsberg subway station .
