Hägersten-Liljeholmen
Hägersten-Liljeholmen is a municipality in Söderort , one of the three main municipal areas of Stockholm . The other two are Stockholm's inner city and Västerort .
The municipality includes the districts of Fruängen , Hägersten , Hägerstensåsen , Mälarhöjden , Västertorp , Liljeholmen , Aspudden , Gröndal, Midsommarkransen and Västberga .
Hägersten-Liljeholmen was formed on January 1, 2007 from the two previous districts of Hägersten and Liljeholmen.
Fruits
The name of the district comes from a farm that was located on the site of today's communal center. In the 1950s, modern new buildings and a shopping center were built here. All streets in Fruängen were named after important Swedish women. A line of the Stockholm subway also ends in the district .
Hägersten
The district of Hägersten was an independent district until January 1, 2007.
Hägerstensåsen
This district is located on a hill about 50 meters above sea level. In 1937 the construction of smaller houses began here and since 1943 several apartment buildings and a communal center have been built.
Mälarhöjden
Mälarhöjden is located on the edge of a mountain that slopes down to Lake Mälaren . Originally there were farms here that were in operation until around 1960. Since the end of the 19th century, predominantly better-off people had summer houses and villas built in this district.
Västertorp
Most of the development was built between 1949 and 1952. Västertorp was the first district of Stockholm to have footpaths and cycle paths that are on a different plan level than the street network. The names of the streets mainly refer to winter sports. A large number of sculptures are striking. These were set up on the initiative of the director of a construction company.
