Farsta Centrum in summer 2007

Farsta is one of the Stockholm suburbs to the south of the city and has a population of around 45,000.

Farsta is mostly residential. Farsta Centrum , inaugurated on October 23, 1960, was the direct planning and architectural continuation of Vällingby Centrum (inaugurated in 1956). As with the Vällingby Centrum, the client and architect were the municipal housing association Svenska Bostäder and the architecture firm Backström & Reinius . After extensive renovation and expansion work from 1998 to 1999, Farsta Centrum is Stockholm's largest shopping center in 2007.
