history
The company was founded in 1998 under the name Unicredito (Suisse) Bank SA as a subsidiary of the Italian banking group Unicredit . As part of a management buyout , the bank was sold to the Tessiner Kantonalbank in 2010 and renamed Axion Swiss Bank . Since then, the Tessiner Kantonalbank has held 80 percent of the share capital through an intermediate holding company. The remaining 20 percent are owned by the management of Axion Swiss Bank. In 2013, Tessiner Kantonalbank owned 100% of the shares and in 2015, Axion Swiss Bank became the owner of Société Générale Private Banking Lugano.
