Aya Nakahara
Aya Nakahara ( Japanese 中原 ア ヤ , Nakahara Aya ; born July 28, 1973 in Osaka Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist .
The short story Haru to Kūki to Nichiyōbi was the first manga that Nakahara published professionally. This was published in 1995 in Bessatsu Margaret , a manga magazine of the Shūeisha publishing house for young women, for which she has mainly worked since then. 1997 appeared with Benkyō shi nasai! her first series. In Hanada , published in Bessatsu Margaret from 2000 to 2001 and subsequently in two anthologies, she tells of a seemingly flawless young person who changes from a girls' school to a mixed school and is looking for a suitable partner.
Nakahara's best-known work is Lovely Complex , for which she won the 2004 Kōdansha Manga Prize in the Shōjo category . In this relationship comedy, which was published in approximately 2700 pages in Bessatsu Margaret from 2001 to 2006 , the protagonists are an above-average high school student and her above-average classmate. The two decide to pair each other up. Lovely Complex became a huge commercial success with sales in excess of ten million and was implemented as both a live action film and an anime television series.
