Aydınspor 1923 is a Turkish football club from the city of Aydın and the western Turkish province of Aydın of the same name and was originally founded under the name Aydın Belediyespor as a company sports club of the city administration. While the year this association was founded is not known, the association colors were set as blue and white when it was founded. In the summer of 2009, the most famous and most successful club in the province, Aydınspor , was heavily indebted and got down from the TFF 3rd Lig and said goodbye to Turkish professional football. At the same time as Aydınspor was relegated, Aydın Belediyespor changed his name toAydınspor 1923 and took over the club colors and the logo of Aydınspor. It is not yet known whether this name change and adaptation to Aydınspor was agreed with the responsible persons of the association or whether an independent, creeping takeover of the association was intended. Therefore, Aydınspor 1923 is a different club than Aydınspor. In the 2012/13 season, the club rose to the TFF 2nd Lig .

history

founding

The club was founded in 1993 by the then mayor as a company sports club of the city administration under the name Aydın Belediye Spor Kulübü (German sports club of the city administration of Aydın ) by taking over the association Çine Topçamspor . After the club was founded, the club played in the regional amateur leagues for a long time.

Change of name to Aydınspor 1923

In the summer of 2009, the most famous and most successful club in the province, Aydınspor , was heavily indebted to the TFF 3rd Lig and said goodbye to Turkish professional football. At the same time as this descent from Aydınspor , Aydın Belediyespor changed its name to Aydınspor in 1923 and took over both the club's colors and the almost unchanged Aydınspor logo . In the logo, only the year Aydınspor was founded, 1965, was replaced by the number, 1923 . What this numerical addition to the name is supposed to symbolize is unknown.

It is not fully known whether this name change and adaptation to Aydınspor was agreed with the responsible persons of the association or whether an independent, abusive takeover of the association is intended. Such name changes are often found in Turkish football for various reasons. On the one hand, highly indebted clubs try to reorganize themselves financially by buying them up and then renaming them. For example, the traditional Turkish club Göztepe Izmir stepped down from the Turkish professional football business in the summer of 2007, heavily in debt. Subsequently, the patron Imam Altınbaş bought the football department of Aliağa Belediyespor, which was in the TFF 3rd Lig, and named the club Göztepe A. Ş. around. In other cases, those responsible from other clubs try to take over a larger, ailing club over a longer period of time in such situations, although the formerly larger club still exists and plays in a lower league. This case applies e.g. B. for Yeni Malatyaspor too. Despite repeated warnings from the Turkish Football Association , Yeni Malatyaspor is constantly trying to take over Malatyaspor . Another often encountered case is that a former association dissolves and then another association with a new administration succeeds it. Since the Turkish Football Association forbids exact name takeovers, the clubs concerned are going to add new name suffixes to the old club name such as Yeni (German: New ), Belediye (German: City Administration ) or, as in the case of Aydınspor in 1923, a number such as 1923 . It is not known which of these cases applies to Aydınspor 1923 .

The first years

After the name change, the club reached the league championship in the fourth division season 2012/13 and thus rose to the TFF 2. Lig .
