Aydemir Nemli (* 1929 in Istanbul ; † January 14, 2003 ibid) was a Turkish football player and coach. Although he started his career at Fenerbahçe Istanbul , he is more associated with İstanbulspor . He played for this club for eleven years and wore the captain's armband for the last few years. He also worked several times as a coach for this club.

Player career

society

As the son of an aristocratic family from the city of Trabzon , Nemli started his football career at Fenerbahçe Istanbul and also attended the renowned Boğaziçi high school . After he was active for Fenerbahçe until the summer of 1949, he left the club and moved to city rivals İstanbulspor . Here he immediately established himself as a top performer and was also appointed to the national team. From the spring of 1959 he took part with Istanbulspor in the newly founded and nationwide Millî Lig , now known as Süper Lig . So far there has been no national league in Turkey, only regional leagues in the larger metropolitan areas. Of these regional leagues, the most prestigious was İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi . The first season was played from February 1959 to June 1959 and ended with the championship of Fenerbahçe Istanbul. For Istanbulspor Nemli played two more seasons in this league and was far behind from the top of the table in a lower place in the table. After he was appointed player-coach last season and the club's management declared that they wanted to rejuvenate the team, Nemli got fewer and fewer stakes. In the summer of 1960 he ended his active football career.

National team

In 1937 Nemli was nominated for the first time in his career in the squad of the Turkish national team as part of a test match against the Brazilian national team , which also meant the first game against Brazil in the association's history .

About a year after this international debut he was nominated for a test match against Egypt in the squad of the 2nd selection of the national team, Turkey A2 , and also made his debut for this national team level.

Coaching career

In the last year of his playing career he was appointed player- coach at İstanbulspor and in this role assisted the then head coach Ziya Taner . About a year after the end of his active career, he took over the coaching position at İstanbulspor and switched to coaching. He coached this club for about one and a half seasons and announced his resignation in January 1963.

In the summer of 1963 he took over the then amateur league team Taksim SK , the team of the Armenian minority of Istanbul , and led them to the championship of the Mahalli Lig.

In February 1966 he was introduced to his old club, the Istanbulspor, which is seriously threatened by relegation, as a coach and manager in personal union. He looked after the club until the end of the season and achieved with this the safe relegation.
