Ayfer Tunç (born March 2, 1964 in Adapazarı , Turkey ) is a Turkish author .

Life

Tunç graduated from Istanbul University in political science . During her studies, she wrote a number of articles for various magazines for literature, culture and art. In 1989 a collection of her short stories was awarded. Her first novel, Kepok Kili, was printed in 1992 .

From 1999 to 2004 Tunç worked as editor-in-chief at the Istanbul publishing house Yapı Kredi Publishing House . During this time, she wrote a biographical book in 2001 entitled My Parents Will Visit You if You Aren't Occupied . In 2003, based on short stories by Sait Faik Abasıyanık , she wrote the screenplay for the television film Havada Bulut (Cloud in the Sky), which was broadcast in the same year on the state television broadcaster Türkiye Radyo ve Televizyon Kurumu (TRT).

  • 2003: International Balkanika Prize for Literature for Maniniz Yoksa Anemler Size Gelecek (My Parents ...).
