Ayhan Karayusuf

Ayhan Karayusuf ( Greek Αϊχάν Μεμέτ Καρά Γιουσούφ Aïchán Mechmét Kará Giousoúf , born August 12, 1963 in Amaranda (Yahyabeyli), Maronia-Sapes ) is a Greek dentist and politician of the left-wing Syriza party .

Ayhan Karayusuf comes from the Turkish minority in Western Thrace . He attended the dental faculty of the University of Istanbul until 1988 and worked from 1996 to 1999 as a member of the board of directors of the “ Rhodope Dental Association ”.

In 1994 he became a member of the Synaspismos party and was elected to the municipal council of the then municipality of Maronia . In the parliamentary elections of May 2012, however, he was elected to the Greek parliament as a member of the Syriza party for the constituency of Rodopi , and in the new elections in June he retained his seat of parliament. In the elections in January 2015 and the elections in September , he was re-elected.
