Ayotzinapa is a Mexican village in the metropolitan area of the city of Tixtla de Guerrero in the municipality of the same name in the state of Guerrero with 84 inhabitants (as of 2010).
Ayotzinapa has a training center for primary school teachers, the Escuela Normal Rural Raúl Isidro Burgos , founded in 1926 , which gained international fame for the kidnapping of 43 student teachers in October 2014 (see mass kidnapping in Iguala 2014 ). The teacher training college is known for its "left activism". Lucio Cabañas Barrientos was a student of the seminar .
