Walfrido Teixeira Vieira

Walfrido Teixeira Vieira (born December 17, 1921 in Jagaquara ; † November 9, 2001 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Sobral .

Life

Walfrido Teixeira Vieira was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Amargosa on June 29, 1946 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on March 25, 1961 auxiliary bishop in São Salvador da Bahia and titular bishop of Laranda . The Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia, Augusto Álvaro Cardinal da Silva , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Antônio de Mendonça Monteiro , Bishop of Bonfim , and Floréncio Cicinho Vieira , Bishop of Amargosa .

He attended all the sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

On January 6, 1965, Pope Paul VI appointed him bishop of Sobral. On March 18, 1998, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
