The Roman Catholic Diocese of Bonfim ( lat. : Dioecesis Bonfimensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Senhor do Bonfim in the state of Bahia .

history

The diocese of Bonfim was on April 6, 1933 by Pope Pius XI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius christifidelium from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia and subordinated to this as a suffragan diocese. On November 14, 1959, the Bonfim diocese gave parts of its territory to establish the Ruy Barbosa diocese . Another assignment of territory took place on September 14, 1971 to establish the diocese of Paulo Afonso . On January 16, 2002, the Bonfim diocese was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Feira de Santana as a suffragan.
