The Diocese of Guaxupé ( lat. : Dioecesis Guaxupensis ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Guaxupé in the state of Minas Gerais .

history

The diocese of Guaxupé was on February 3, 1916 by Pope Benedict XV. Erected from the cession of territory by the diocese of Pouso Alegre . On May 11, 1968, the diocese of Guaxupé gave up parts of its territory to establish the Territorial Abbey of Claraval . This territorial abbey was dissolved on December 11, 2002 and the territory was annexed to the diocese of Guaxupé.

The diocese of Guaxupé is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Pouso Alegre as a suffragan .
