Ayten Kiliçarslan

Ayten Kiliçarslan (* 1965 in the Sauerland ) is a German-Turkish qualified pedagogue and economist .

Born in the Sauerland as a child of migrant workers , Kiliçarslan grew up with her grandmother in Turkey before she was able to return to Germany at the age of fifteen. Here she studied education and economics.

She first worked full-time as a consultant for the city of Bonn on the subject of “Migration work and Islam as a socialization factor” (1999). While she was teaching at the Universities of Essen and Duisburg (1999–2002), she took up her position as deputy head of the “Meeting and Training Center for Muslim Women” and at the same time headed the “Muslim Women's Education Center” (1999–2009). There she headed the project “Political Education for Muslim Women” (2003-2004), which was funded by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, and helped set up a number of advice centers such as migration advice for adult immigrants (MEB), ALG II advice and debt advice. After working as a migration advisor for adult immigrants (2005–2009), she switched to DITIB and was responsible for coordinating the regional associations and project developments (2010–2014). As a department head for “Women, Family, Youth and Social Services” (2014–2017), she initiated and led several projects and built up appropriate structures until further development was no longer possible.

Ayten Kılıçarslan has currently been employed by the Social Service of Muslim Women (SmF eV) as executive chairwoman and project manager since May 2018 .

Her focus is on migration and integration policy, structural development, inclusion and participation, youth prevention, youth work, protection of women, advancement of women and culturally sensitive social work.

Her voluntary activities: Head of the “Studentinnenvereinigung ASG-IQRA” at the University of Cologne (1996–1999), participation in the “Leadership Program” of the US State Department (2006), moderation of “Islamforum NRW” (2007–2009), participation at the “German Islam Conference” (2007–2017), co-founder and first chairwoman of the “Action Alliance of Muslim Women eV - AMF” (2009), first female board member of “DITIB eV” (2007–2009), development and constitution of the “DITIB regional associations” (2009), member of the advisory committee of the Office for Turks Abroad (2013–2016), founding of the “Bund Muslim Frauen - BDMF” (2013), founding of the “Bund muslimischer Jugend - BDMJ” (2014), founding chairwoman of the “Islamic Center of Excellence for Welfare - IKW eV ”. (2016–2018), founding chairwoman of the “Social Service of Muslim Women - SmF eV” (2016 -). Published books: Impressions from the USA (Amerika'dan İzlenimler-2008), Turkish women from the 1st and 2nd generation in migration (Göç sürecinde Almanya'da Birinci ve İkinci Nesil Türk Kadınları (2012)).

The German citizen is married and has three children.
