The Talleres Azkoyen company was founded in 1945 by Martín Luis Troyas Osés and manufactured agricultural machinery for harvesting and processing potatoes and asparagus. Outside of this area, the company applied for patents for a washing machine and an electric motor-driven cradle in the following years. In 1956, Azkoyen's first wall-mounted vending machine to dispense lighter fluid was made. From 1959 Azkoyen sold coin validators to other machine manufacturers. In the 1960s, the company developed more machines to sell cigarettes, chewing gum, cookies, chocolate and other sweets, as well as coin changers. In 1976 and 1977, ticket machines for local public transport and hot beverage machines were brought onto the market. On July 18, 1988, Azkoyen was listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange .
