Azumabashi
Azumabashi ("East Bridge", Japanese 吾 妻 橋 , historical spelling for the bridge 東 橋 ) is a district of the Sumida district in the east of the Japanese prefecture of Tokyo . It is located in northeast Tokyo on the left bank of the Sumidagawa . It is named after the Azumabashi, a bridge over the Sumidagawa, which connects the district with Kaminarimon in the Taitō district. The district of Azumabashi is divided into three chôme , in which, according to registration statistics, 5,038 inhabitants lived in April 2018. The zip code of Azumabashi is 130-0001.
In Azumabashi, on the banks of the Sumidagawa, which forms the western border of the district and the Sumida district, the Sumida City Hall and next to it the headquarters of the Asahi Beer brewery group . In the north the district is bounded by the Kitajikkengawa , to the north is Mukōjima. In the east it reaches to the Ōyokogawa , behind it is Narihira. In the south, Azumabashi borders on Higashikomagata. The main traffic axes are the Asakusa-dōri in the east-west direction and the Mitsume-dōri in the north-south direction, at the intersection of the two is the Honjo-Azumabashi station of the prefectural subway . Line 6 (Mukōjima Line) of the Tokyo city motorway runs along the banks of the Sumidagawa .

The new bridge built in the Meiji period in 1899, it was damaged in the Great Kantō earthquake , today's Azumabashi dates back to 1931.
