The B&F FK 12 Comet is an ultralight aircraft produced by the German manufacturer B&F Technik Vertriebs GmbH. The manoeuvrable double-decker is constructed in a composite construction.
construction
The FK 12 has the appearance of a classic double-decker with a tail wheel chassis . It can be converted from an open cockpit to a one or two-seater closed cockpit in just a few minutes. The frame of the fuselage made of steel and aluminum tubes is clad with GRP components, the wings in fiber composite construction are covered in the rear area. The four ailerons extend above and below almost the entire width of the wings and thus enable a high roll rate . They are designed as flaperons , so they also serve as flaps . To save space, the wings can easily be folded back by a single person parallel to the fuselage.
MoGas is recommended as the fuel for the Rotax 912 UL / ULS engines with 80 or 100 HP, the use of AvGas in continuous operation is not recommended for technical reasons. The Australian 6-cylinder engine (also available as a certified aircraft engine) Jabiru 3300 with 120 hp from a 3.3 liter displacement, can also be operated permanently with AVGAS in addition to Mogas (95 RON min). This engine is full throttle.
The Comet is available both as a finished aircraft and as a kit .
use
The FK 12 with the serial numbers 100 and 101 were delivered at the beginning of 2012 to the French company Les Ailes de Pégase Experience , based at Saint Estèphe airfield . There they were painted with shark-mouth- nose art and equipped with lasers and smoke systems. Private pilots can use it to conduct simulated aerial battles in a kind of laser tag .
