The B&F FK 9 is a popular three-axis controlled ultralight aircraft from the Speyer company B&F Technik Vertriebs GmbH . The fourth version of the shoulder decker in CFRP composite construction with tubular steel is now being produced. In the USA this version is approved as a light sport aircraft up to 540 kg (560 kg as a seaplane ).

The aircraft is available with different engine variants from 65 to 102 hp, from the Wankel engine and the more common 912 Rotax engine to the Smart engine (lower consumption with slightly higher weight). As a German design by Peter Funk, the aircraft is manufactured in Poland and Brazil and is now used all over the world. It is used for cruise, flight training and towing of gliders or banners .

As a retrofit kit, the Smart supplier Ecofly offers a 60 hp diesel engine with a comparable torque, which is also derived from the Smart ( OM660 ).
