Bärbel Vopel

Bärbel Vopel (born April 7, 1943 in Apolda ) is a former German politician of the CDU . She was a member of the Thuringian state parliament in the 2nd electoral term 1994–1999 and in the 3rd electoral term 1999–2004 .

After completing secondary school in 1959, she did a year of practical training at the Jena Women's Clinic, followed by midwifery training at the Medical College in Erfurt (without a state examination).

After years as a mother and housewife, Vopel became an administrator in the church service in 1986.

From 1990 to 1994 she was district council president in the Weimar district, from November 1993 to 1999 she was deputy district chairman of the CDU in Weimarer Land, since July 1994 a member of the Weimar district council.

From 1994 to 2004 Vopel was a member of the Thuringian state parliament.

Vopel lives in Blankenhain . She is Protestant, married and has three children.
