Kuterevo Bear Refuge

The bear refuge of Kuterevo ( Croat . Utočište za medvjediće u Kuterevu ) is located on the Velebit massif in the village of Kuterevo in Croatia . It is about 20 km from Otočac and about 35 km from Senj .
It is a refuge for young brown bears who have been separated from their mother by external circumstances and would not survive without human care.
The bear child rescue station is financed by donations and run by volunteers.
The refuge is a popular destination and is open to visitors all year round.
