The house at Bäuersche Straße 16 is a listed residential building in the town of Blankenburg (Harz) in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located in the western part of the old town of Blankenburg on the north side of Bäuerschen Straße. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Bäuersche Straße 15 to the west and Bäuersche Straße 17 to the east .

Architecture and history

According to a dendrochronological dating, the two-storey half - timbered building was built in 1431. Together with the neighboring building at Bäuersche Straße 17, it is the oldest surviving residential building in the city.

The half-timbered stands of the simple building go through to the roof and are a testament to this very old half-timbered construction. The entrance to the five-volume building is located on the right-hand side of the facade, with today's gate dating from the 18th century. The windows are also changed. The beam heads are raw and uncut. The compartments on the upper floor are lined with bricks. The protruding eaves of the house are striking .

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a historical building under registration number 094 00712 .
