Bé Cultural d'Interès Nacional

Bé cultural d'interès nacional ( Catalan for “cultural property of national importance”; plural: béns culturals d'interès nacional or abbreviated bé d'interès nacional ; abbreviation: BCIN ) is the highest category of listed objects in Catalonia . Fixed as well as movable monuments can be protected. The classification is carried out by the Generalitat de Catalunya (the Catalan government) and documented by anentryin the Registre de Béns Culturals d'Interès Nacional . Lower levels of monument protection are bé cultural d'interès local (BCIL; German: "cultural property of regional importance") and Espai de Protecció Arqueològica (EPA; German: "protected archaeological site").

The protected objects are historical buildings, places, gardens or sites, archaeological or paleontological sites or ethnologically significant sites.
