Heribert Trunk

Heribert Johann Trunk (born August 25, 1961 in Bamberg ) is an Upper Franconian logistics company. From March 2012 to April 2017 he was President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) for Upper Franconia.

Life

Heribert Trunk was born in Bamberg as the son of the forwarding agent Oswald Trunk and his wife Luitgard (* 1934). He completed his business diploma in 1980 at what was then Graf-Stauffenberg-Gymnasium in Bamberg, then he worked in his parents' forwarding company and successfully passed the commercial specialist exam in 1987 in connection with the trainer aptitude test . Subsequently, Trunk worked for the parcel service German Parcel (now part of the British parcel service General Logistics Systems ) as a co-founder in a leading position until 1997 . In 1989 he was involved in founding the supply chain management company BI-LOG GmbH , based in Bamberg. In 1997, Trunk left German Parcel and devoted himself exclusively to his work as CEO of BI-LOG .

In November 2007, the Upper Franconia district awarded him the Silver Medal of Honor .

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil , awarded Trunk the Federal Cross of Merit on July 8, 2013 . Above all, the award recognizes Trunk's services as an entrepreneur. 2016 he received from Markus Söder , the financial Medal of the Bavarian Ministry of Finance .

Trunk is married and lives in Bamberg. He is the father of four children.

Economic commitment

On the co-initiative of Trunk, the dual study program FH Dual was introduced at the Hof University of Applied Sciences in 2005 and two new training professions were introduced in autumn 2006 with the businessman for dialogue marketing and the service worker for dialogue marketing . Trunk has been with the Upper Franconian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2007, initially as Vice President and since 2012 as President. In addition, Trunk was appointed to the board of directors of the DIHK for two years . In February 2012, the President of the Bamberg Regional Court appointed him honorary commercial judge for a period of five years.

From 2012 to 2017 Trunk was a member of the advisory board at the headquarters of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Bavaria. Trunk has been chairman of the board of trustees of the University of Bayreuth since July 2013 . Minister of State Joachim Herrmann appointed him as an honorary member of the Board of Trustees of the Upper Franconian Foundation from 2014 (until 2020).

Political commitment

During his school days, Heribert Trunk was a member of the German Student Union and from 1980 to 1981 he was the regional chairman of the Bavarian Student Union . From 2001 to 2003 he was district chairman of the CSU Bamberg and from 2002 to 2008 a member of the city council for the Bamberg CSU.
