Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh [ ˌbʲeːɫ ɑːhən̪ˠ ˈɣᵚeːɾ̥ˠhɪɟ ] ( Anglicised : Ballingeary ) is a village in the valley of the River An Laoi (Anglicised: River Lee ) in the west of County Cork , Ireland . It includes the Townlands Drom at Ailigh and An Chill Mhór and is located in the Gaeltacht of Múscraí Thiar (Anglicised: West Muskerry ). As in neighboring Baile Bhuirne, the colloquial language is the Munster dialect of Irish . Only the Irish name Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh has official status.

The Coláiste Mhumhan Summer College is located in Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh. Many students from all over Ireland spend their summer holidays here to improve their Irish language skills while staying with native speaking families.
