Distribution of Frisian dialects

Mooring

Mooring (also called Mååring ) is the name given to the dialects in the eastern Bökingharde, Westermooring (around Niebüll ) and Ostermooring (around Risum-Lindholm ). These local dialects get their name from the Risum Moor. Due to its position as the most vital mainland Frisian language variant today, the term mooring is now often used as a term for the entire Bökinghard Frisian.
