The Börner Quartet was a string quartet from Erfurt .

The ensemble was founded in the early 1970s by Margit Börner , concertmaster at the Erfurt Municipal Theaters . His repertoire included works of classical music literature as well as modern, contemporary works.

Until it was dissolved in the early 1990s, the quartet established a permanent place in the Erfurt chamber music scene and beyond.
