Evil stepmothers (Original title: Evil stepmothers ) is an American crime film - documentary series that since 17 February 2016 the American broadcaster Discovery Investigation is broadcast. It is an offshoot of the documentary series Evil Twins , which has been broadcast on the same channel since 2012.
The German-language first broadcast has been on the German channel TLC Germany since July 19, 2017 .
The television show was extended for a third season, which aired April 13-27, 2018.
concept
The documentary series recreates criminal cases committed by stepmothers. With the help of recreated scenes, real police photos and videos and interviews with those involved, a crime is depicted in each episode.
Production and broadcast
Evil Stepmothers is a Sirens Media production for Investigation Discovery .
As early as January 2017, it was announced on Twitter that the broadcaster had ordered another spin-off from the Evil Twins documentary series under the title Evil Stepmothers . Finally, the first six-part season was shown on Investigation Discovery on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. from February 17 to March 23, 2016 . The second season, which again included six episodes, was broadcast mainly every Thursday at the same time from May 4 to June 1, 2017.
The three-part third season started with the episode Selfish Desires on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10 p.m. It was then broadcast at 9 p.m.
German-speaking area
The German-language first broadcast has been on the German channel TLC Germany since July 19, 2017 . The translation and broadcast is not based on the original classification of the episodes.
While the first season was broadcast in German from July 19 to August 23, 2017 on Wednesdays at 10:10 p.m., TLC broadcast the second season in German from June 7 to July 12, 2018 on Thursdays at 8 p.m. 3pm.
