Bøverdal

Bøverdal is a place in Norway in Lom municipality in the Bøverdalen valley . The place is at the junction on a private road to Juvasshytta or to Galdhøpiggen summer ski center.

The 34 meter high saga column ( Norwegian : Sagasøyla ) was erected in Bøverdal in 1992. The story of this column is confused and began in 1926, when the sculptor Wilhelm Rasmussen won the competition for a monument to celebrate the Norwegian Constitution . The column was initially intended for installation in front of the Norwegian Parliament in Oslo . It shows the history of Norway from the time of the first King Harald in 872 to the first national assembly in Riksforsamlingen in Eidsvoll in 1814.
