Civic bloc government

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the Weimar Republic , the term civic bloc government was understood to mean government coalitions in which the DDP , Zentrum , BVP , DVP and DNVP - or at least the majority of these parties - were involved.

On January 15, 1925, this coalition was formed for the first time under Chancellor Hans Luther . On January 29, 1927, Chancellor Wilhelm Marx set up the second cabinet of this type. In the Federal Republic of Germany , CDU / CSU / FDP coalitions were occasionally called this. The common term, however, is “ center-right government” or “bourgeois government”, as the SPD is left out in this combination.
