The Bürgerliche Mitte (short name: Bü-Mi ) is a voter association in Hamburg. It was founded by members of We want to learn . The chairman is Mareile Kirsch.

history

founding

The Bü-Mi was founded by some members of the citizens' initiative "We want to learn (WWL)", which played a decisive role in the discussion and referendum on school reform in Hamburg in 2010. After the referendum, discussions arose about converting the WWL into a party or electoral association. After the decision on the state election in Hamburg in 2011 after the premature end of the black-green coalition , the chairman of the WWL Walter Scheuerl decided to stand on the CDU state list .

As a result, on December 17, 2010, some members of the WWL founded the civil center voters' association . The Bü-Mi collected the 1000 necessary support signatures and was thus admitted to the 2011 state election. In the election she received around 0.2 percent of the vote.

The Bü-Mi logo is very similar to the WWL logo. After presenting the logo, WWL chairman Scheuerl asked Bü-Mi to change the logo.

Further development

After the end of 2011 there were no longer any visible activities of the Bü-Mi, during this time Mareile Kirsch led the “G9 - Now!” Initiative in order to reintroduce the 13th year of schooling at grammar schools by referendum. For the 2015 general election, she founded a new voter association called the Hamburger Bürger-Liste .

Program

The main concern of the voters' association is the abolition of the Abitur after twelve school years. The minimum requirement is a choice between a twelve-year and thirteen-year Abitur. Further items on the program are calls for more part-time jobs for young mothers and free daycare places for children of Hartz IV recipients. The Bü-Mi wants an economic policy oriented towards medium-sized companies, the renunciation of prestige projects like the Hamburg Stadtbahn and a better review of the Hamburg budget.
