BAM Ge 4/4

The BAM Ge 4/4 21 and 22 are four-axis meter gauge - electric locomotives , with the name Ge 4/4 , the Swiss railways Bière-Apples-Morges and Apples-L'Isle. The Bière – Apples – Morges Railway (BAM) was renamed in July 2003 in Transports de la région Morges – Bière – Cossonay (MBC).

Parallel to the second series of the Ge 4/4 III of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB), the then BAM also procured two comparable locomotives from the Swiss Lokomotiv- und Maschinenfabrik (SLM) and Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), but they were for an alternating voltage of 15 kV are designed and have additional buffers for the transport of standard gauge wagons on trolleys . The vehicles, which went into operation in 1994, have since been used exclusively for the transport of standard gauge wagons on roller stands. The most common transport goods are sugar beets. There are also occasional heavy military trains to the Bière arsenal of the Swiss Army . The two green and white locomotives are named after the Morges and Venoge rivers , which flow into Lake Geneva . The name and number are on the side of the door.
