BET + (pronounced BET Plus ) is a subscription video-on-demand service from Black Entertainment Television (BET), which is part of ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks , which in turn are part of ViacomCBS . At the time of its first appearance, the service still belonged to Viacom , which, however, merged with CBS Corporation to form ViacomCBS in early December 2019 ; A merger had already been agreed in August 2019. The service was first announced on June 24, 2019 and then released on September 19, 2019. The release was a collaboration between BET and Tyler Perry Studios . BET + is part of the turnaround strategy started by Viacom in 2017, in which the company buys digital platforms and then invests in them.
