BE Semiconductor ( Besi for short ) is a Dutch company that develops and produces machines for the semiconductor industry . BE Semiconductor's production sites are located in Asia, where most of the foundries worldwide and therefore most of the company's customers are located. In 2019, 31.5% of sales were achieved in the People's Republic of China, 9.9% in Taiwan, 8.5% in Malaysia and a further 22.3% in the rest of the Asia-Pacific region .
The company was founded by Richard Blickman in May 1995 and floated on the stock exchange in December of the same year. As of June 2020, BE Semiconductor's shares are part of the Next 150 Index and the AMX Index .
