The service company for Bavarian Local Radio Programs mbH & Co. KG (BLR) in Munich has been supplying Bavarian local radio stations with Bavarian and national program content since 1991. Among other things, a show program is produced, including music planning, which can also be ordered as a playlist from the radio stations, news from Bavaria, Germany and the world (in various formats), current reports on e.g. B. Politics, sport, church and colorful as well as individual sections such. B. Stock exchange, cinema tip and weather.

Takeover by local radio stations

The main program is taken over by many Bavarian private radio stations, especially in the evening and night, as well as on weekends. The hourly produced news is taken over by almost all radio programs. In addition, the BLR offers the service of including program-specific station IDs in their main program in such a way that the listener gets the impression that it is a regional program.

financing

The BLR is financed by the local broadcasters who cede part of their national advertising revenues to the BLR and concentrate on their local tasks by supplying the BLR with programming. The BLR is supported by three shareholders who are themselves involved in numerous local radio stations:

  • the Bavarian daily newspaper publisher (mbt media company of the Bavarian daily newspapers for cable communication mbH & Co. - Radio 2000 KG) with 36 percent
  • the Nuremberg media entrepreneur Oschmann (RSG - Radio System & Service Handels- und Beratungsgesellschaft mbH) with 32 percent
  • a consortium of Bavarian media companies led by Burda Broadcasting Media (Studio Gong Munich GmbH & Co. Studiobetriebs KG) with 32 percent

The concentration in the Bavarian media landscape in general and especially in the local radio landscape with local channels and BLR is criticized occasionally. A large number of media companies in Bavaria are controlled by a few companies, they say.

The BLR is a member of the MedienCampus Bayern , the umbrella organization for media education and training in Bavaria.
