BP Kőbánya Spartacus

BP Kőbánya Spartacus is a women's handball club from Kőbánya , the tenth district of the Hungarian capital Budapest .

The Spartacus association, founded in 1954, had its first wedding in the early 1960s. Seven championships were won in eight years, in 1965 the club reached the final of the European Cup, today's Champions League , which went to the Danish representative HG Copenhagen with 14: 6, 7:10 . A year before and a year after, Spartacus made it to the semifinals of the most important European competition for handball clubs.

After a long dry spell, the club was able to briefly follow up on its old successes in the 1980s. In the smaller EHF Cup Winners' Cup , Spartacus reached the final in 1981, which the team won 18:17 and 22:17 against Bane Sekulić Sombor . In 1982 the club also made it to the final of the cup winner competition, but this time had to bow to RK Osijek .
