Habartov (German Habersbirk , also Haberspirk ) is a city in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers northwest of Sokolov (Ger. Former Falkenau an der Eger) in the Egergraben and belongs to the Karlovarský kraj .

Geographical location

The city lies between the Ore Mountains and the Kaiserwald in the Falkenau Basin on the edge of a lignite mining area. In the east, south and west there are large open-cast mines and spoil heaps.

Community structure

The town of Habartov consists of the districts Habartov ( Habersbirk ), Horní Částkov ( Ober-Schossenreuth ), Kluč ( Rad ), Lítov ( Littengrün ) and Úžlabí ( Kahr colony ). Basic settlement units are Habartov, Horní Částkov, Kluč, Lítov, Na Rovince ( soil ) and Úžlabí.

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Habartov, Horní Částkov and Lítov.

Neighboring communities

Neighboring towns are Anenská Ves (German Annadorf ) in the north, Josefov (German Josefsdorf ) and Radvanov (German Robesgrün ) in the northeast, Bukovany (German Buckwa / Bukwa ) in the south, Lítov (German Littengrün ) and Horní Částkov (German . Ober-Schossenreuth ) in the west and Hrádek ( Pürgles ) in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1339. The then owner Johann Prisner followed u. a. the families Pergler von Perglas and the Stolz von Simbsdorf, who bought it in 1573. In 1668 the Counts of Nostitz and in 1719 Heinrich Mulz von Waldau became the new landlords. Between 1737 and 1790 Haberspirk was part of the Hertenberg rule , after which the place formed its own manor again until the patrimonial rule was replaced in 1850.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the district of Falkenau an der Eger .
