history

Church of St. Erhard from 1555

The place was probably founded in the 13th century as part of the colonization of the mountain region. There is no evidence whatsoever for the assumption, which is widespread in some sources, that a hammer mill and a smelter should have existed as early as the 12th century. Investigations of slag residues showed that they came from a simple and small stamping mill in a tin mine from a later period. The first written mention of Tatrwic was in 1356 in the church records of the Prague diocese in connection with the replacement of the pastor's post after the pastor's death.

The village belonged to the possessions of the city of Elbogen and then came under the rule of Litmitz . In the course of history the owners of the place changed often. There is evidence of a parish school since 1599. The residents initially made a living from logging and rafting. Potato cultivation was introduced around 1740 and larger forest areas on the Fellerberg were cleared for the cultivation of tubers. A quarry was operated on the Kugelleithe. In the second half of the 17th century quartzite began to be mined, which continued until the end of the Second World War. The rock was removed from the mountains via Griesbach and from there via Zehrerstraße through Grund to Doglasgrün . In 1830 a gold beating and ribbon knitting factory was established which produced "Dotterwieser jewelry" until 1913.

After the abolition of patrimonial Dotterwies and Sponsl formed a community in the Falkenau district from 1850 . In 1895 the road from Doglasgrün to Dotterwies was built. She replaced the difficult-to-drive road with reason. In 1913 and 1914 the new road was continued to Schwarzenbach as a connection to Neudeker Straße.

In 1895, the textile entrepreneur Josef Endler (1869–1940) from Lodsch , who came from a family who emigrated from Northern Bohemia, set up a knitting factory in Dotterwies for his plant in Eger . This factory remained the only larger company that settled in Dotterwies and was the largest employer. In 1898 Endler's knitting factory became an independent company; Josef Endler moved to Dotterwies in 1900, from where he managed the company and established branches in Mariasorg and Doglasgrün.

In 1913, the high-voltage line from Unter Reichenau to Neudek was built on the western outskirts . Dotterwies was connected to the power grid between 1920 and 1922. In 1921 the community came to the Elbogen district. In 1930 Dotterwies, including the locations Am Mond and Hintenhäusl, had 579 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 557. After the Munich Agreement , the community of Unter Reichenau was incorporated into the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Elbogen district . After the end of the Second World War, the place came back to Czechoslovakia; the expulsion of the Germans began. In 1948 the village was named Tatrovice and in 1950 it became part of the municipality of Černava in the Okres Karlovy Vary-okolí. 1961 took place the reorganization to Vřesová and the reclassification in the Okres Sokolov . In 1967 the reservoir was built to supply drinking water to the Vřesová gas works. 1980 was Křemenitá, which had previously belonged to Vřesová, umgemeinde.

Tatrovice is one of the communities in the Czech Republic with a German minority. Their share is more than 10%.

The Ore Mountains folk song Dotterwieser Fuchsjagd is named after the place.
