BSG Post Rostock
The BSG Post Rostock was a successful sports club in the GDR . After the fall of the Wall it was absorbed by the Post Sports Club in Rostock.
history
The company sports association Post Rostock was founded on November 15, 1950 after employees of the post office and the Rostock telecommunications office had applied to the responsible ministry in Berlin to establish a company sports association. The founding members at that time were Paul Schulz, Karl-Heinz Behn, Ursula Frisch and Ulrich and Ursula Schwerin. At peak times, the BSG Post Rostock had over 800 members.
Numerous sports were offered in the club.
In table tennis and bowling , the association won GDR championships and cup victories.
Women's football department
In 1990 the soccer ladies became GDR champions and cup winners, after having taken part in the GDR championship with good placements since 1979 .
With Katrin Prühs, Katrin Baaske and Sybille Lange, the club provided three national soccer players from the GDR.
