BUNCH ( German Rudel ) was the nickname of a group of five large computer companies that was formed from the initials of these companies.

In the 1960s, there were eight computer companies in the United States called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs . IBM was the Snow White, Burroughs , UNIVAC , NCR (National Cash Register), Control Data , Honeywell , RCA ( Radio Corporation of America ) and General Electric were the seven dwarfs.

In 1970 General Electric sold its computer division to Honeywell. In 1971 the computer division of RCA was discontinued. The initials of the remaining five dwarfs Burroughs, UNIVAC, NCR, Control Data and Honeywell resulted in the abbreviation BUNCH .

In the 1980s and 1990s, BUNCH broke up. Univac was taken over by Burroughs; it was Unisys . Control Data stopped manufacturing computers and Honeywell sold its computer division to Bull Computer .
