Babilonas

Babilonas is a shopping and entertainment center in Panevėžys , Lithuania (143a Klaipėdos Street). The furniture retail hall, cinema and electronics store are among the largest in northeast Lithuania ( Aukštaitija ). The area is 80 hectares. There are 1,100 spaces for parking vehicles. In the shopping center with a special terrarium lives a crocodile , Babilonijus, named by children.

In the mall there are:

  • Three restaurants and a cafeteria
  • Cinema (" Forum Cinemas Babilonas", 3 cinemas)
  • Separate hall for furniture trade (4590 m²)
  • Room for entertainment and events (967 m²). Depending on the season, there are various entertainment options (ice rink, trampoline jumping, swimming balls). In addition, various events, sports competitions and concerts can take place here.
  • Electronics store ( Topo centras , 1545 m²).
  • Chinese goods ("Azijos centras", 800 m²).
  • Grocery store (" NORFA XXL", 1000 m²).
  • Various other shops and entertainment places (up to 400 m².): Clothing, sports and lifestyle, drinks, books.

history

“Babilonas I” opened on August 19, 2005. Construction of the multi-industrial quarter began in 2006 and ended in 2007. In August 2008 the shopping center was expanded: the cinema and a few other shops were opened. In 2007–2008, the shopping center's primary market focused on household goods: furniture, construction, interior design. Another primary target market was entertainment (cinema, ice rink).

The market orientation has been changed since 2009: the number of interior decoration goods decreased somewhat and at the same time the number of shops with soft goods such as clothing and shoes increased. In July 2010 the first supermarket (grocery store) was opened at Babilonas.
