The BachSpiele Leipzig is a youth competition on the subject of Johann Sebastian Bach and takes place annually as part of the Leipzig Bach Festival . The task of the participants is to develop a 15-20 minute stage program on the life or work of Johann Sebastian Bach and to present it to the audience and the jury on the stage of the BachSpiele. What is needed is not the performance of Bach's music in a classical, traditional form, but the development of a very own, creative way of seeing and playing.

Specialty

What is special about the BachSpiele and unique in Germany: There are no genre specifications - whether music, dance, theater, literature, video performance, fashion show or painting, everything that pleases and is suitable for presentation in a short stage show is allowed. First and foremost, the creative ideas and enthusiasm of the young players count. Any form of mixtures of the genres mentioned, regardless of whether they are from the performing or visual arts, are expressly permitted and desired.
