A Bachelor of Science in Information Technology ( BScIT or B. Sc IT for short ) is a bachelor's degree in the USA that is awarded for undergraduate studies in the field of information technology. Some of these degrees are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The course usually lasts 3–4 years, corresponding to 6–8 semesters . To conclude, a comprehensive study must be carried out in one of the following areas:

The student has an entire semester for this work, during which there are almost no lectures.

Many employers are looking for positions as a software developer or programmer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science .

The same core curriculum can - depending on the training facility - also be included in the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Computing in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Computer Security in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng) in Computer Science
  • Studied mathematics in computer science
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc or BS) in Computer Science

Skills

Much of the skills learned at universities and colleges are required to become a software developer in a software company; first and foremost, logical thinking is required. In the course itself, all aspects of modern software development are taught - from surface design and system efficiency to extensive testing of the software.

Students who want to pursue further training in software engineering after completing their bachelor’s degree have the opportunity to train as a Master of Science in Information Technology (M. Sc IT), which is also continued as a Doctor of Information Technology (DIT) can.

The following lectures, which represent a wide variety from all areas of computer science, can be found in most of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology courses:
