Bakery of the lower village

The Backhaus of the lower village is a listed building in the Dill Road 28 in the district Hermannstein in Wetzlar , which was built in the 17th century.

The small building was constructed as a two-story bakery . The ground floor is massive, while the upper floor is half-timbered . The framework, which was probably originally plastered, consists of high, straight foot struts, which are provided with counter-rotating foot straps on the corner and center posts over profiled swell wood. The gable sides of the bakery are covered with slate .

According to a plaque attached to the building, the house was built before 1664 and is still used for baking today. The baker's former apartment was on the upper floor.
