The Bad Vilbeler Markt is the largest folk festival in the Hessian Wetterau . The market, which takes place on the fairground in Bad Vilbel , starts every year on the Saturday before the 3rd Sunday in August and lasts for nine days. (Of these, however, there are only seven days of play; the market is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.) The festival was first mentioned in 1820 .

The population is involved in the design of the market. On the Saturday before the opening of the market, there is a large pageant through the city center to the fairground, in which many associations and groups take part. On the first Sunday the ev. Parish organizes a service for residents and showmen. Monday afternoon is children's afternoon with games, theater and performances by the children. The cattle market (district animal show) that takes place every Tuesday is always a special crowd puller. The local animal breeders present cattle, horses, sheep, goats, poultry, rabbits and cows. Friday is Children's Day with discounted prices for the rides. On this afternoon, the seniors are offered a colorful afternoon in the marquee. The evening of the clubs on Saturdays entertains the visitors and gives an insight into the work of the clubs. On Sunday afternoon, people from Bad Vilbel can win trips in a free raffle and a large fireworks display takes place late in the evening.
